Evoked Potentials
Evoked potentials are very small electrical signals that require a computer performing signal averaging techniques to extract. These signals can be obtained from the spinal cord or brain to help determine if there is an abnormality. Using visual patterns, clicking sounds or electrical stimulation, evaluation of the optic nerve (vision), the auditory nerve (hearing), the brainstem (lower part of the brain), or the spinal cord can be performed. |
