Electromyography (EMG)
Electromyography (EMG) assists in the diagnosis of a variety of neurological disorders to include muscular dystrophy, inflammation of muscles, pinched nerves, peripheral neurolopathic (nerve damage in the arms and legs), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and myasthenia gravis.
Electromyography (EMG) is done by placing small needles in various muscles to determine if the muscle itself is normal or abnormal or if the muscle is receiving the proper nerve supply (innervation).
