Electroencephalograms (EEG)
Electroencephalograms (EEGs) are used to determine the physiological state of the brain and are used to evaluate patients for epilepsy, disorders of awareness, loss of consciousness, tumors, strokes and infection. EEGs are performed by placing numerous electrodes on the scalp and recording electrical signals from the brain in microvolts (millionth of a volt). |
