Pediatric Rehabilitation
The constant in any child’s life is not a doctor, a social worker, a case manager or a rehabilitation team. It is the child’s family. Our focus is to educate the primary family members as to what our services are and how they can obtain access to such services. This will enable the family to eventually take over from the team.
The St. Francis team has developed an eight-step stepping stone program that is a simple, parent- friendly model that maps out services the child will need when he or she returns home and/or goes back to school. The transdisciplinary team will focus on each specific element to inform the family of what is expected of them and what local services are available in the family’s geographic area.

Eight Stepping Stones
· Health Care
· Education
· Recreation
· Social Services
· Mental Health
· Disability Awareness
· Cultural and Spiritual Needs
· Follow-up
